The legendary American band Mercury Rev crosses the Atlantic to celebrate the 25th anniversary of All Is Dream (2001), one of the most acclaimed, ambitious, and seminal records in psychedelic and alternative rock at the turn of the millennium.
Formed in the late 1980s in Buffalo, New York, Mercury Rev — led by Jonathan Donahue and guitarist Grasshopper — initially carved out an experimental and noisy sound. However, it was their transition into orchestral, cinematic, and deeply emotional pop that cemented their place on the global music landscape.
Following the success of Deserter’s Songs (1998), the band reaffirmed their creative genius with All Is Dream. Co-produced by Dave Fridmann and Jack Nitzsche, the album transported audiences into a gothic, fantastical universe through classics such as “The Dark Is Rising” and “Nite and Fog,” seamlessly blending fragility with symphonic grandeur.
With more than three decades of career, Mercury Rev remain architects of dreams and one of the most influential bands of their generation. Twenty-five years on, the visual poetry of All Is Dream comes to life once again on stage in these two shows in Portugal, where nostalgia meets timelessness.
