About us

Started in 2011
In 2011, a year marked by uncertainties and economic difficulties, Alvalade, specifically Rua do Centro Cultural, witnessed the birth of República da Música.
With a strong motivation to support national music, the space initially consisted of rehearsal rooms, and República da Música quickly became known and talked about. In a short time, and organically, it became a go-to venue in Lisbon for band contests, hosting the debut of many projects that later gained national recognition.
13 years later, in a neighboring building at No. 29, República da Música takes on a new life. From the past, it retains its convictions and the same motto – by musicians, for musicians. República da Música will continue to welcome new talents, but not only that. Thanks to the personal and professional growth of the team behind this great project, República da Música now aims to become a nationally renowned performance venue.
The upper floor is home to a multipurpose room that fills us with pride. With a maximum capacity of 800 people and equipped to meet demanding production and audio quality standards, it will certainly be the perfect choice for medium-to-large productions.
The ground floor reflects our roots, presenting a more modestly sized space but immense in potential. With a capacity of up to 300 people, Room 2 will serve as a stage for both national and international projects, ranging from rock to electronic music and all the styles that choose us as their venue.
Some say that virtue lies in balance, and at República da Música, we have what we consider essential for the success of any event – hospitality. With multiple dressing rooms and a large shared space for catering, all artists and clients will feel right at home.
